All of my couples have amazing stories to tell but this couple I think they had the most amazing stories of all. They met thanks to a book and because of this they were very sure that they wanted to get married in a library.
They had in mind also which library in Florence, the Biblioteca Riccardiana, inside Palazzo Medici Riccardi. One of the most beautiful aspects of my job is that I discover little and big gems of my city. The Riccardiana library is a big jewel even if it is a small library. I was quite sure that they would have told me “I am sorry but this is not possible”, instead thanks to an illuminated director, I received a yes.
The couple, two servants of the Portuguese army, was so happy when I told me that we could go on with the wedding organization! It was a symbolic wedding full of emotions, I know that they had to live apart for several months and that it was not very easy at all, especially when you are in war scenarios.
What can I say? The most memorable moment, the moment we all cried our eyes out was when the bride, as a surprise, sang to the husband! She had such an amazing voice!
